Productivity and profit are directly linked to improving animal welfare

Jason Purcell operates Consolidated Pastoral Company’s Allawah Brahman Stud along with his wife Haylee and two children Bree and Sarah. He has been involved in breeding Brahman cattle and cross-bred Black and Red Angus plus Belmont Red cattle for many years and is passionate about the cattle industry and the challenges that come with it. In this video he talks about how productivity and profit are directly linked to improving animal welfare, in that settled animals that are treated with respect and are happy an comfortable in their environment perform better. CPC use Medical Ethics’ Tri-Solfen® when performing branding, dehorning and castration, and their own research has shown that the calves recover quicker and are back on their feet straight away and reunited with their mothers meaning the calves are in less pain and less stressed.
