Today, Animal Ethics Pty Ltd was granted a Canadian patent for its topical anaesthetic pain relief product, Trisolfen.,
Trisolfen was also recently registered by the Australian Federal Government agency APVMA, for pain relief in lambs undergoing the surgical procedure Mulesing.
“The Tri-Solfen formulation is highly successful to alleviate pain associated with mulesing in sheep. In ongoing research trials, it is also proving to be safe and efficacious to alleviate pain in a variety of animal species undergoing surgical procedures such as castration, dehorning and tail docking, “says Allan Giffard, Managing Director of Animal Ethics.
“We believe that better management of pain in farm animals and in companion animals is urgently required and will become a major market segment over the next 10 years.” he says.
With the added protection of a Canadian Patent and the recently granted European, Australian and New Zealand Patents now in place, Animal Ethics will continue its fast tracking for marketing registrations for the pain relief product Tri-Solfen in a number of species including Pigs, Cattle, Horses and dogs.
