While the cattle industry in the north is slowly recovering from the live export controversy there’s another livestock welfare issue lurking in the shadows.

Dehorning is the widespread practice of removing horns form cattle.

By all accounts it’s extremely painful and distressing.

Now an experimental anaesthetic spray called Tri-Solfen is being trialled on North Queensland properties including the eleven stations that make up McDonald Holdings.
