As the mulesing debate continues to rage, the world’s first pain relief spray for sheep has been released.
Animal Ethics Managing Director, Alan Gilford, said the development of the product placed Australian agriculture at the forefront of animal welfare practices. “One thing that sets this industry apart from all others in the reliance and determination of wool growers to battle through long odds.”
“But at the end of the day, there is nothing more magnificent or genuine than wool growers and the produce. This new century is crying out for new commodities that are eco and animal friendly,” he said.
Mr Gilford said the launch of spray, called Tri-Solfen, demonstrated to the world that the Australian farming community was once more leading the world in best farming practices.
Mr Gilford said the amount of response he had received from Government, farming bodies, welfare groups and wool growers had been a true eye opener.
“There is a great future for Australian agriculture, when such a vibrant and energetic spirit still remains in our community,” he said.
